Noah Lyles advanced to the 200m finals on Day 6 of the US Olympic Trials after producing a winning result in the semi-finals. His dominant performance garnered a lot of attention from his fans after the American sprinter set a trial record in the 200m discipline.
Lyles has already punched his tickets to the Paris Olympics by winning the 100m dash at the US Olympic trials. He clocked a time of 9.83s in the finals and bested some of his on-field arch-rivals, Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley, and Kenny Bednarek. Following the 100m champion was the 200m Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Bednarek, who recorded 9.83s, and in third place was Fred Kerley, who posted 9.88s.
The 26-year-old yet again stole the spotlight in the 200m semi-finals on Day 6 of the trials. He set a new trials record and a season-best of 19.60s, besting Christian Coleman, who clocked 19.89s, and Erriyon Knighton, who came in third with a time of 19.93s.
Noah Lyles shared the race's video on his Instagram account and made his fans' heads turn.
One of his followers, impressed with the win, commented:

Noah Lyles weighs in on losing to Oblique Seville in 100m season opener
Noah Lyles 2024 season has been victorious so far, however, his 100m season opener did not go as expected. He opened his 100m at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica, where he was trounced by the 23-year-old Oblique Seville, who clocked a time of 9.82s. Lyles came in second after clocking a personal best of 9.83s.
After this loss, Lyles opened up about the same on his X handle, where he wrote:
"Oh Yah...I'll remember this! See you in Paris @ObliqueSeville."
In an interview with USATF JTG live, Lyles said that he studied his competitors and also expressed confidence in succeeding at the Paris Olympics. Claiming that he will bring gold medals, Lyles said:
"It's gold. They are all going to be gold. I'll tell you why though. I study my competitors. I knew that man was going to be ready for that race. Don't get me wrong, I was ready but he was obviously more ready that day. But I'll tell you what, There’s a difference between running in Jamaica and running at the Olympics," Lyles said.
He added:
"I’ve seen how you handle your rounds. I know your weaknesses, I know what your strengths are. I'll be ready."
Noah Lyles is all set to compete in the 200m finals at the trials to add another event to his Paris Olympic schedule. The final showdown is scheduled to be held on June 29, Day 7 of the trials.
