American swimmer Caeleb Dressel reacted to Leon Marchand's post from the 2024 Swimming World Cup in Shanghai. This comes just a few months after the Paris Olympics where both Dressel and Marchand participated.

Marchand made a return to the pool after the Paris event in the Shanghai event and made an instant impact, winning the Men's 100m Medley on the first day of the competition.

During the event finals, the French swimmer clocked a time of 50.65 seconds to beat Switzerland's Noe Ponti and Great Britain's Duncan Scott. Ponti and Scott eventually settled in second and third place in 50.66 seconds and 51.14 seconds, respectively.

World Aquatics shared a few glimpses of this event on their Instagram handle, featuring Leon Marchand. In the pictures, Marchand can be seen wearing Caeleb Dressel's cap featuring the swimmer's surname and the American flag.

The American swimmer was quick to react to this and left a cheeky comment under the post. He wrote:

Both Leon Marchand and Caeleb Dressel ended their 2024 quadrennial event on a successful note. The 22-year-old Toulouse native was the more decorated of the two, winning four gold and a bronze medal in the competition. Dressel on the other hand, clinched two gold medals as part of the 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m mixed medley relay teams, and a silver as part of the 4x100m medley team.

Caeleb Dressel shed light on his performance at the third Olympic Games of his career in Paris.

In an interview with Olympics.com, Dressel said he is 'proud' of the way he has competed throughout the tournament, especially after making a comeback to the sport after battling depression in the last few years. He said:

"I'm proud of myself, of how I handled myself throughout these Games, and it wasn't easy. This whole year, the comeback, the training. I didn't get exactly the results I wanted individually, to be honest, but it's just what comes with the sport. So these [medals] mean a lot to me, just with the journey back that it was."

Even though Dressel finished the event with three laurels, he failed to secure a single individual medal. He competed in the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly events and finished 6th and 13th respectively.
