Fred Kerley opens up about his ambitions for the rest of the 2024 season
After claiming third place and securing 19.86s in the 200m at the 2024 Lausanne Diamond League, Fred Kerley revealed his ambitions for the remaining 2024 season in the post-race interview.
"Second 200 of the season, so, can't complain. I'm going to definitely drop a PB in the next 200 I'm in. Just got to feel the race all again," Kerley said.
"Been focused on the 100,trying to get the 100 out of the way. I don't miss nothing about running the turn. It is not that bad but if the ankle is weak, the rest is going to be weak."
Kerley also spoke about chasing his dream of an Olympic gold medal and unveiled that he has his eyes set on the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
"In Paris, I think I got the job done on that day, that's all I had on that day," the sprinter added.
"I feel like the job's not finished and 2028 is around the corner. I am not leaving my career without an Olympic gold medal and 2028 is around the corner. But I feel like everything was given on those days at the championships, now on to the next one."
Fred Kerley will next be seen competing at the 2024 Rome Diamond League, which is scheduled for August 30, 2024.
