Simone Biles has expressed excitement about moving into her new house and starting a family with her husband Jonathan Owens one day. The couple married in April last year and have been building a lavish home in Texas.
Biles broke several records once again as the 27-year-old secured three gold medals at the Paris Olympics. With a total of eleven Olympic medals to her name, eight of which are gold, she is the most decorated American Olympic gymnast in history.
While she is at the twilight of her career, Biles hasn't hinted at retiring any time soon. The eight-time Olympic gold medalist hasn't ruled out the LA 2028 Olympics as well. For now, the American gymnast is looking forward to the Gold Over America Tour and the construction of her new house, which she hopes to quickly move into and start a family with her husband Jonathan Owens.
Speaking with PEOPLE magazine in an interview recently, Simone Biles claimed that Jonathan Owens had let her lead the ‘design and build’ process and said:
“Jonathan (Owens) is very low-key and let me lead with the design and build process. We feel so blessed to be able to build our dream home. We can’t wait to officially move in and expand our family one day," she said
Biles has regularly shared glimpses of the construction of her house on Instagram. In her latest update from August 2024, the Kitchen looked to be already installed with the cabinets, backsplash, and countertops, hinting that the work was likely in its last stages.
Simone Biles is excited about the men's program being on the Gold Over America Tour for the first time
The Gold Over America Tour, an exhibition event featuring a mix of athletic and artistic brilliance, started in 2021 after the Tokyo Olympics and became a big success. It only had female gymnasts back in 2021, but the men's program was added to the roster in 2024. Expressing her excitement about the inclusion of men's programs in the Gold Over America Tour, Simone Biles said (via the aforementioned source):
“I’m very excited about the tour and I think having this time off helped me prepare — mentally and physically,” Biles said.
“I’m most excited for the fans to see the best of both worlds. Men’s and women’s gymnastics in one arena, at the same exact time, sharing the same floor,” she added.
Biles also confirmed that they were indeed retiring the Yurchenko Double Pike. It’s considered among the hardest gymnastics skills and she was the only gymnast in the world to land it in the official competitions.
