As the Olympic gold medalist Kelley O’Hara prepares for retirement, Mikaela Shiffrin expressed her admiration and excitement for the American soccer player. O’Hara will be honored in a retirement ceremony at halftime of the United States women's national soccer team's match against Iceland at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
Joining the national team in 2009, O’Hara played for the team in four World Cups and three Olympic Games. She has played in every senior world championship for the United States from 2011 through 2023. The American wingback registered three goals in her international career, along with 21 assists.
Currently ranked 21st all-time in U.S. history, she has earned 160 caps at the United States Women's National Team. With her retirement on the horizon, the team updated the fans and invited them to attend the retirement ceremony, which will be conducted during the halftime of the match on Sunday, October 27, 2024:

Admiring O’Hara and celebrating her illustrious career, Shiffrin congratulated her and conveyed her excitement about the incredible journey that lies ahead of the soccer player.

Mikaela Shiffrin shares glimpse of her training camp from El Colorado ahead of upcoming Alpine skiing season
Ahead of the 2024-25 Alpine skiing World Cup season, Mikaela Shiffrin gave her fans a glimpse of her latest training camp in El Colorado, Chile. In the video, she is seen effortlessly sliding through the snow.
She also added a few snippets of herself warming up, training in the gym, and attending recovery sessions. Reflecting on the week-long training camp, she noted it was exciting and exhausting at the same time.
The legendary swimmer shared the video while expressing her excitement for the season ahead.
"With a bit less than two weeks stateside after my last on-snow camp in El Colorado, Chile, I’m now off to the southern hemisphere for yet another prep camp," Mikaela Shiffrin wrote.
"Three weeks full of intense prep at high elevation is fun, but it’s also pretty exhausting 😅. Here’s a little glimpse of a day in the life at ski camp in Chile…excited to dive in again! The season is almost here and the anticipation is growing," she added.
The upcoming Alpine skiing World Cup season is set to kick off on October 26, 2024, in Solden, Austria.
