Carter Starocci shared a glimpse of New York City decked up for the New Year celebrations. The collegiate wrestler came fresh off clinching a sudden victory against Parker Keckeisen at the NCWA All-Star Classic in the build-up to the Nationals.

Carter Starocci recorded a successful 2023-24 season, clinching nine dual meet victories and a Journeyman Classic title on his way to the NCAA Division I Championships. However, he suffered an injury in the last dual meet, sitting out of the Big Ten Championships but earning a spot at the Nationals for his past accomplishments.

The 23-year-old blazed through the rounds and reached the finals, where he trounced Rocco Welsh to become the sixth four-time NCAA Champion in history. After starting his fresh season with a victory against Parker Keckeisen at the NCWA All-Star Classic, Starocci shifted his focus to the streets of a decked-up New York City, awaiting the ball drop to ring in New Year 2025.

"Another day for the champ"

Starocci utilized his fifth year of eligibility with Penn State and returned for the 2024-25 season. Besides taking collegiate titles and laurels, he won bronze in the 79 kg at the U23 World Championships.

Ahead of the 2024-25 season, fresh off his fourth NCAA title, Carter Starocci shared some pictures of his practice sessions. He talked about how his form would be stronger in the upcoming season. The 23-year-old also highlighted that he works all day instead of overworking.

"Art is never finished, only abandoned. That’s how I see it. Every day, I’m sharpening my craft, working on my masterpiece—one rep, one practice, one match at a time. People talk about greatness like it happens overnight, but the real ones know it’s built in the everyday. Which prepares for the moments of the unknown—and you push through anyway."

He added:

"I’m not just showing up for another season; I’m putting in work that most won’t see and even fewer will do. When you love something, you are willing to give it all for it. Instead of working overtime, I work all the time."

Starocci's repertoire includes two Big Ten Championships in 2022 Lincoln and 2023 College Park. Having attended Cathedral Preparatory School, the 23-year-old bagged four PIAA State champion titles and became a four-time state placer. The 2024-25 season will be the last of his collegiate career.
