At the Paris games, Richardson delivered a show-stopping performance in the women's 4x100m relay finals, crucial in securing a gold medal for her team. She also set a world record in the women's 100m race, finishing with a time of 10.87 seconds, just behind Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia.

The Olympic champion continued to rise throughout her career in athletics.
