2024 proved to be a landmark year for Sha'Carri Richardson. It began with her major contract signing in April when she secured a groundbreaking five-year deal with Nike worth $20 million. As a part of the agreement, the brand designed customized shoes for her for the Paris Olympics.

At the Paris games, Richardson delivered a show-stopping performance in the women's 4x100m relay finals, crucial in securing a gold medal for her team. She also set a world record in the women's 100m race, finishing with a time of 10.87 seconds, just behind Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia.

The Olympic champion continued to rise throughout her career in athletics. Other than track and field achievements, in July 2024, she graced the cover of Vogue magazine, showcasing her influence beyond the track. Looking ahead, she is set to appear on the cover of Essence magazine in the January 2025 issue.

In a December interview with Essence, she reflected on her achievements:

"Gracing the cover is almost historic for me. It’s going to show my journey of transformation. I actually remember my grandmother having magazines, and ESSENCE being one of those magazines. When I shared with her that I would be on the cover, that was something that I was able to relate to the little girl inside of me. So I’m super excited and honored, and I feel like the foundation of ESSENCE aligns with the foundation of who I am.”

Sha'Carri Richardson and Christian Coleman spent their Christmas together this year.
