Caeleb Dressel, the nine-time Olympic gold medalist enjoyed an impressive comeback at the Paris Olympics. He also recently revealed what his thoughts for the 2028 Olympic Games are and how he is looking forward to entering the LA stage.

The 28-year-old Olympian from Florida showed interest in the sport from an early age. With his eminent promise in the pool, he was able to set several national records in his high school. He attended the University of Florida and was trained under Carol MacDougall during his high school years.

The Olympic gold medalist Melvin Monroe Stewart, famously known as SwimSwam’s Gold Medal Mel, recently talked to Dressel about his 2028 Los Angeles Olympic plans. During the interview, Dressel revealed what his mindset is focusing on and how he will manage ahead considering his overall responsibilities.

“I would absolutely love to. I've made a bunch of phone calls, called a lot of people, had a ton of conversations of what the next four years looks like. What next year looks like, what you know, in between now and 2028 looks like. But absolutely that would be a dream of mine if we could be able to compete on American soil. So yeah, I'm doing my due diligence, being very methodical, very meticulous contacting the right people,” Caeleb Dressel shared. [1:03 onwards]

He continued:

“The people who have done it and seeing you know people who also had kids and been married and you know number two coming up for me. So there's a lot of different pieces to this equation where if it was just me, you know, cooped up in my house by myself, sure. That's not where I'm at, that's not where I want to be at, so I would love to Mel. It's definitely a puzzle I have to figure out.”

Caeleb Dressel, who has 15 gold medals and two silver medals in the World Championships long course and six golds and three silvers in the short course, is now looking to help train the next generation of swimmers. He mentioned via SwimSwam [onwards 0:03]:

He shares,

“I told you I wanted to get my socials moving in the direction of more so teaching instead of just clickbait entertainment. I want the sport to be more accessible. I want it to be more free, freer. I want kids who maybe clinics don't run to their hometown to be able to type in my name or it doesn't even matter if it's my name but I would want to be part of the solution.”

Dressel is considered one of the top swimmers and has been a vital part of the US Olympics roster since his debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He has also been vocal regarding his fight with anxiety and further depression, and also took a break from the sport due to medical reasons. However he returned with renewed vigor in May 2023.

During one of his interviews with SwimSwam’s Mel last year in August 2024, the swimmer revealed that he is a “very anxious person” when it comes to the sport.

Caeleb Dressel won two gold medals and one silver medal at the Paris Olympics last year.
