Simone Biles' Gold Over America tour stopped at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on October 1, 2024, where the 11-time Olympic medalist stunned the crowd with a flawless somersault on the floor. One of the slow-motion maneuvers especially attracted the attention of social fans.
Biles launched the Gold Over America tour after her 2020 Tokyo Olympics withdrawal owing to 'twisties'. She aimed to normalize conversations around athletes' mental health, inspire young girls with her journey, and let other gymnasts embrace their individuality while performing on the tour. In 2024, the seven-time Olympic gold medalist embarked on the second tour edition after her Paris Games success.
After nine successful tour stops, the gymnasts stopped at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Simone Biles displayed a clean floor routine in a white-and-blue ombre leotard with her fellow gymnasts lined up on either side of the stage, as posted on X by Prudential Center.
One fan noticed the last flip and wondered how the 27-year-old executed such a complicated maneuver.
"DID SHE SLO MO FLIP AT THE END ON PURPOSE?!"
Another fan asked Biles the secret behind her slow-motion move out of curiosity.
"How do you slo mo yourself?"
Another X user compared her with a feather on seeing the flawless landing of the floor routine.
Here are some of the other reactions:
"Wawww the Chun-li kick at the end," a fan tweeted.
"Goat for a reason. Especially when they have to make rules to contain you," commented a fan.
"I cannot stop watching this! Simone is glorious," a fan said.
Simone Biles on competing at 27 years old - "My body is on a ticking time bomb"
Biles recently opened up on her struggles to compete as a 27-year-old at the 2024 Paris Olympics. As the oldest female American gymnast on the global stage since the 1952 Helsinki Games, Simone Biles revealed that her body is a 'ticking time bomb' when competing on the gymnastic mat.
"With everything that I've done and been through, I do feel like it gives me more confidence. But since I am older, I am a little bit more afraid... I've worked 27 years for this. Since I'm older, my body is on a ticking time bomb. Whenever I'm like out on the streets, I'm young. But in the gym, I'm like...." she said in the promotional clip of 'Simone Biles Rising' season two.
The newest season of Simone Biles Rising will hit the OTT screen on October 25, 2024. The Gold Over America tour will stop at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, on October 4, 2024.
