Noah Lyles recently opened up on how he and his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield navigate different preferences, while also highlighting the common things that strengthen their relationship. The American and Jamaican sprinters represented their nations at the 2024 Paris Games.
The couple had been friends for six years before they began dating in 2022, and they confirmed their relationship to the public in August 2023. Following the Olympics, the couple has been busy attending events and making media appearances.
In one such interview with "Mixed feelings.Earth," Lyles said that despite their different preferences and interests in food and anime, the couple still shares a strong connection through their mutual love for dancing.
"You don't got to like the same things. I mean there's tons of things that we don't like that aren't the same but there's tons of things that are," Lyles said. "I mean, we both love anime but she can't watch any anime that doesn't have action in it and I can watch any anime that's probably even been made."
He added:
"And then our food choices are completely different. But there are still things that we have that are very much in common, like we love to dance and we love to dance with each other."
"I just want to say how incredibly proud I am" - Noah Lyles praises his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield after the Jamaican addressed cyber bullying
Following the Paris Games, Noah Lyles' girlfriend Junelle Bromfield confessed to encountering cyberbullying. She opened up on the backlash she faced on her appearance.
"I have been getting cyberbullied for weeks and when it gets talked about I’m a liar because no Jamaican was coming for my features," she wrote in an Instagram post.
Lyles praised his Jamaican girlfriend for standing up against the online harassment, expressing his pride in her.
"I just want to say how incredibly proud I am of my GF and give her the flowers she deserves now 💐," Lyles wrote. "She has been through so much in her life that I could never imagine fighting through. Most impressive thing I’ve seen recently is how she’s dealt with the pure disrespect and hatred towards her from her own country. "
While Noah Lyles secured a gold and a bronze medal in the 100m and 200m, respectively, Bromfield competed in the women's 400m, reaching the semifinals before being eliminated.
