Julien Alfred on receiving the ‘Best Female Athlete of Paris 2024’ award
For Julien Alfred, this award is a recognition of the sacrifices she made to get to the top. The Saint Lucian explained that she hopes this award inspires the youth of her nation, saying (as quoted by PANAM Sports):
“This award means a lot to me. The truth is it shows that all the heart and sacrifice I had to put into this challenge was for a reason. I receive this award hoping that it can inspire an entire nation and the youth of my country and be able to show that sacrifice is necessary to be able to get where you want to go. This year showed me what you can do if you believe in yourself, if you believe in your coach and in God. I am very happy for this award and I dedicate it to my entire country.”
