Reigning triple Olympic champion Gabby Thomas has offered a sneak peek into her training as she began preparations for the 2025 season. The sprinter will compete in the World Athletics Championships next year, scheduled for April in Tokyo.
After wrapping up her 2024 season with her participation in Athlos NYC in September and taking a few weeks off from the track, the 27-year-old runner has returned to athletics with preparations for the upcoming season. She posted a video on her TikTok account showcasing her intense gym session lifting weights.
Alongside the video, the Harvard graduate shared a witty caption referencing sweet potato pie, tying it to the Thanksgiving season.
"Earning the absurd amount of sweet potato pie I'm going to throw down this year😅," Gabby Thomas wrote.
Thomas became the first female sprinter from the United States to win an Olympic gold medal in the 200m at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris since Allyson Felix achieved the feat at the 2012 London Olympics. She also played a crucial role in securing gold medals for Team USA in both the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay events, with the latter marking the team's eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal in the event achieved in a national record time.
