Femke Bol cemented her legacy yet again at the 2024 European Athletics Championships, securing a gold medal in the women's 400m hurdles.
She achieved his feat by clocking a stunning time of 52.49 seconds to set a new championship record by defeating Louise Maraval (54.23) and fellow teammate Cathelijn Peeters (54.37). Bol's timing also marked the new world lead, surpassing Sydney McLaughlin-Levron's 52.70 seconds, which she recorded in Georgia.
The Norwegian middle and long-distance runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen clinched his third European title in the 1500m by posting a new championship record with 3:31.95. He surpassed Jochem Vermeulen and Pietro Arese, who clocked 3:33.30 and 3:33.34, respectively.
