Noah Lyles recently spoke about creating unforgettable experiences for viewers with his performances as he gears up for the Paris Olympics. The American athlete has always been on a quest to make track and field a major sporting event.
Lyles will be competing in the upcoming Paris Olympics in three events aiming for his first-ever individual gold medal. He put forward incredible performances in the 2024 season to come up as one of the top prospects for the Olympic medal.
The American dominated the line-up in the U.S Olympic Track and Field Trials, winning the gold medal in both the men's 100m and 200m. He put on a great show during the trials by displaying "Yu-Gi-Oh!" cards garnering great traction among fans as well.
Right before the Olympics, he spoke to GQ magazine about putting on a great show every time he takes the track to compete. Additionally, he wanted everyone to know about the essence of track and field by displaying great athleticism.
“To be honest, I feel that if you watch me, you'll see a show every time. And I would love for everybody to come out and see the show—and that's everybody from little kids to future to Lewis Hamilton," he said.
"I truly believe that this sport is actually extremely fun, and I really want them to come out and watch. Because I know after they watch a race with me, it's not gonna be like anything they've ever seen,” he added.
Noah Lyles on the importance of winning ahead of the Paris Olympics
Noah Lyles participated in the 100m at the London Diamond League, which was his last event before completely shifting focus to the Paris Olympics. The American athlete spoke in a post-race interview about the importance of winning as well as creating a long-standing legacy in the sport.
“It's about the win. You can have the best time in the world, but if you ain't got the win, then back it up. You start to get left behind.I think my legacy is growing the sport more than just the track. Being able to bring it to the U.S., being able to bring it outside of the U.S," he said. (1:51)
Noah Lyles will compete against Kenny Bednarek, Kishane Thompson, and Letsile Tebogo for the ultimate Olympic crown in Paris.
