The two-time world champion Femke Bol is about to hit the ground running in 400m hurdles. The athlete is currently preparing in the training camps and embracing every moment.
Bol, the 24-year-old Dutch prodigy, has blazed the trail on the track, having won two world championship titles, three Diamond League finals, and two world indoor championships and she is just getting started in track and field. She made the headlines during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as she secured a spot on the podium, closely chasing the likes of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Dalilah Muhammad.
Nonetheless, the runner is currently focused on beginning her ongoing season in the 400m hurdles category, and the Stockholm Diamond League in June is most likely going to be the event that will witness her open the 2024 campaign. She claimed on social media that the latter event would be her first stop in the season, and for that, much-needed preparation is underway.
Sharing a glimpse of her training session, Femke Bol posted on her Instagram story and wrote:
"Good week of training. Happy to be here as last preperation before the season starts"
Bol has already begun her campaign in 400m sprint events. At this year's World Indoor Athletics Championships, she bettered her world record after cutting the tape in 49.17 seconds, beating her previous best of 49.24 seconds.
Femke Bol to begin 400m hurdles campaign in the Wanda Diamond League in Stockholm, a build-up before the Paris Olympics
Femke Bol is ready to begin her hurdles pursuits. In June, she will be back on track to add another feather to her crown if she manages to win the Wanda Diamond League in Stockholm for the fourth time. As the event lies just ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024, it would be a perfect platform for Bol to put her preparations to the test.
The French event would witness two of the best, Bol and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone of the United States, locking their horns once again for the podium finish in both the 400-meter and 400-meter hurdles.
Bol's upcoming days look packed; she is all set for the Diamond League, followed by the Paris Olympics 2024, and then again in the twelfth leg of the Wanda Diamond League at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Meeting in Silesia, just after the Summer Games.
