Femke Bol reacted to her boyfriend Ben Broeders announcing the launch of his Belgian chocolate-covered espresso beans web shop a few days before Christmas. Bol and pole vaulter Ben Broeders have been together for almost four years.
Femke Bol, the second woman in history to clock a time under 51s in the 400m hurdles, made waves at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She competed in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 52.15s behind world record holder, Sydney McLaughlin Levrone. Bol also anchored the Dutch mixed 4x400m relay team to a coveted gold, finishing in a European record time of 3:07.43 min. Her effort in the women's 4x400m relay helped her team trail the gold-winning US team only.
Months after her Olympic success, she lauded her boyfriend and pole vaulter Ben Broeders for his webshop launch. The online store, BroBeans, will offer premium quality Belgian chocolate-covered espresso beans, perfect for gifting on holidays, as posted by Broeders:
"Proud to officially launch the BroBeans website today! Starting today you can order this intriguing, delicious treat in Belgium and the Netherlands! If you’re looking for a last-minute X-mas gift, this is the best tip of the moment!" the caption read.
The Olympian, beaming with pride, shared the news in her Instagram story and captioned it with heart-eyed emojis.
On October 21, 2024, the four-time Olympic medalist shared pictures from the couple's off-season Sicilian trip. The photo carousel featured them in front of the Temple of Concordia, walking on the beach, engaging in pizza-making sessions, and hiking exploits.
"Off season has been good," she captioned.
In 2024, Femke Bol set the 400m short track world record and won the 400m hurdles at the World Indoors. She also broke the 400m hurdles European record, and recorded world-best performances in the 300m and 500m, among other achievements.
Femke Bol shared the story of how romance sparked with pole vaulter Ben Broeders
The fourth-fastest European under-23 time in history was the year she met her Broeders for the first time during the coronavirus pandemic. In an interview with Sportnieuws in February 2023, the 24-year-old revealed that the athletes hit it off quickly and went golfing on their first date.
"Ben and I met during the Diamond League matches during corona time. We hit it off right away. So there's another good thing that came out of the COVID pandemic for me. We went golfing on our first date. That's not really my specialty, but it was a lot of fun. We try to be together every weekend and that often works out when we don't have training camps or competitions, " Femke Bol shared.
Broeders won the pole vault gold at the 2017 European U23 Championships and holds a personal best of 5.85m outdoors and 5.82m indoors.
