Femke Bol shows off New Year celebrations with boyfriend Ben Broeders and friends

Olympic champion Femke Bol recently celebrated the New Year with her boyfriend and Belgian pole vaulter Ben Broeders and some other friends. The 24-year-old athlete shared glimpses of her celebrations on her Instagram profile.

Bol uploaded a video, where she was witnessing the fireworks for the New Year with Broeders, and jumped in excitement. She captioned the video as,

"2025 mood 🎇🥰 Happy new year ✨"

The Dutch athlete also uploaded a picture with Broeders and some other friends, which was simply captioned,

"Happy New Year"

For the unversed, Ben Broeders is a Belgian pole vaulters, who has represented Belgium at several international tournaments, including the Olympics. Broeders had won the European Under 23 Championships in 2017, and a bronze medal in the 2019 Universiade. However, he never went beyond the qualification stage at the Olympics, with his best performance being a jump of 5.6m, which earned him a 15th position overall.

Meanwhile, Femke Bol had a rather successful season in 2024, winning medals of all colors at the Paris Olympics. Though she was forced to settle for a second consecutive bronze in the women's 400m hurdles, the Dutch sprinter helped Netherlands in winning a respectable silver in the women's 4x400m relay event. Additionally, Bol surprised everyone when she defeated the American team in the mixed relay finals, only hours after they had broken the world record in the preliminaries.

Femke Bol recently expressed her thoughts as the year 2024 came to a close. The Dutch Athlete uploaded several Instagram stories to show how 2024 was a crucial year for her.

In one of the stories, Bol wrote,

"A year full of happiness, love, hard work, lessons and so much more. Got to spend all of it with amazing, loving people around me, couldn't ask for more."

In another Instagram story, Bol showcased her collection of medals from the Paris Olympics. She further added,

"So many memories made maybe I'll make a recap later, but for now I am going to celebrate the end of this year."

Apart from her Paris Olympics accolades, Femke Bol has earned several other laurels for Netherlands. The 24-year-old Dutch sprinter became the first European athlete to break the 51 second barrier in the 400m hurdles event. She also won two gold medals in the 400m event and the 4x400m relay event at the World Indoor Championships held in Glasgow. Bol ended her season on a high note, with a fourth consecutive title at the Wanda Diamond League finals.
