In a statement, SI's chief editor, MJ Day, opened up about the aspirations of the magazine to curate an "extraordinary" roster of athletes for the upcoming magazine edition. After Gabby Thomas joined the issue, Day said (via SI),
"We are thrilled to launch our shoot season for the 2025 issue with an extraordinary lineup of powerful female athletes."
Gabby Thomas has emerged as one of the most popular track stars in the world, especially after her 2024 Summer Olympic campaign. She became only the fifth female athlete to win three gold medals in the quadrennial Games.
When Gabby Thomas opened up about the need to maintain balance for a healthy lifestyle
Gabby Thomas opened up the need to maintain a balance between on-track and off-track activities. This came just a few days after the conclusion of the 2024 Olympics in August.
In an interview with "Well and Good", Thomas said that maintaining a balance is one of the most prominent elements behind a healthy body. She also mentioned her aim to develop "holistically" during the initial part of her career.
"I think it's really healthy to have a balance. When I signed with New Balance initially, that's just what I was doing. I was working hard on the track and growing, but I was focused on growing holistically as a whole person.”
Thomas also mentioned the importance of sleep after training. She said:
"Sleep is number one. I get at least nine hours of sleep every night, and I don't play about it."
Besides her on-track rigorous practices, Gabby Thomas indulges herself in a plethora of activities including her social work at the Texas Health Center.
