Stephen Nedoroscik is gaining fame for his appearance on the dance reality television show 'Dancing with the Stars.' The 25-year-old American gymnast is now a fan favorite, though he is yet to come to terms with his dancing abilities.
Nedoroscik participated recently in a podcast with his dancing partner Rylee Arnold on the celebrated talk show 'Live Kelly and Mark,' where he joked about dancing for the first time in the 33rd season of 'Dancing with the Stars.' When asked about his experience with the legs, the American gymnast cheekily replied,
"...For the last eight years, or so, these legs have done nothing!"
Nedoroscik further elaborated on how he felt while competing at the Olympics or dancing on a reality show. When asked about what was more nerve wracking, he mentioned,
".....Amazingly, they are quite similar. It is obviously more nerve wracking when you have people relying on you to get a team medal, but like you know, I don't know how good I am at dance, I don't know how people are going to perceive it, so there is that nervous factor, and it's like 'Oh man, this is all new to me, I might mess it up.' "
Stephen Nedoroscik was to initially join the troupe led by legendary gymnast Simone Biles for the second 'Gold over America Tour,' However, when he was invited alongside Olympic bronze medalist Ilona Maher for the 33rd season of 'Dancing with the Stars,' he chose the latter.
Stephen Nedoroscik on fighting his dancing insecurities
Stephen Nedoroscik has been quite vocal about his apprehensions related to dancing, and he was quite nervous about his first appearance on the 'Dancing with the Stars' show.
In a podcast with Joe Vulpis, the American gymnast opened up on his insecurities. He mentioned,
"Um, like 100%, and I think like typically anyone who has an insecurity, they kind of just avoid a certain, you know subject or topic or whatever, like I didn't really want to dance ever, so I was just like you know what, I suck at this, I'm never gonna do it. And then I got a call for 'Dancing with the Stars', and I was like, this is too good of an opportunity to turn down..."
Nedoroscik also thanked his dancing partner Rylee Arnold for helping him overcome his insecurities related to dancing.
".... I'm so lucky cause I got Rylee paired at me, and we have like very similar energy, so like immediately I was a little embarassed, cause I wan't picking up on the steps very fast, but like she saw how motivated I was, and like I was like if I'm doing this, I'm going all out...So like that's what I've been doing and I've been getting compliments from all around, and that alone just chips away those insecurities", the gymnast further added.
Before joining 'Dancing with the Stars,' Stephen Nedoroscik had made USA proud at the Paris Olympics. He contributed to a historic Olympic medal in the team all-around event, which was won by USA after 16 long years. Nedoroscik also won an individual bronze medal in the pommel horse event.
