As 2024 is reaching its end, Alica Schmidt shared a recap of her year in her recent update. The athlete wrapped up her 2024 track season after competing at the Paris Olympics.
One of the most important events for the German athlete was the Paris Olympics; however, the campaign did not pan out as expected for her as she fell short of advancing to the finals. She first competed in the women's 4x100m relay, where she and her team earned a seventh-place finish in Heat 2 of the race.
The second event for the athlete was the mixed 4x100m relay, where she and the German team again ended up in the seventh position in Heat 2 of the race, disqualifying them from the finals. This shattered Schmidt's Olympic dream, and following this she went into the off-season, enjoying her downtime by going on vacations with her friends.
The athlete is currently back to training for the upcoming 2025 track season and recently shared glimpses of her workout on social media too. The German frequently shares updates about her life on Instagram and has recently shared a recap video of the 2024 season, which showcased her Olympic appearance, her workouts, and sneak peeks of her vacations for the entire year.
She added a caption under the post extending gratitude for 2024 and also called it her 'favorite year.'
"My favorite year so far 🥺✨ Forever thankful. 🤍
