Anna DeBeer celebrated her New Year with Indy Ignite teammates after being drafted in by the pro volleyball team in November 2024. The outside hitter finished her collegiate career with Louisville Volleyball last month and is now set for her professional debut in the latter part of January.

DeBeer was spotted in a series of pictures shared by Indy Ignite's Caroline Crawford from their New Year celebrations alongside teammates Isabel Martin, Gabby Gonzalez and Kylie Murr.

The volleyball pros seemingly celebrated the occasion in a nightclub, with DeBeer reposting the pictures on her Instagram story afterward alongside a few celebratory emojis.

Indy Ingite is making its professional debut as a women's volleyball franchise this year, and so is DeBeer, who was drafted in as the No. 2 pick. The outside hitter impressed highly during her collegiate career with Louisville Volleyball, recording nearly 1500 kills in her four seasons with the team.

She won three ACC Championships with Louisville and made an appearance in the National Championship finals in 2022. While the Cardinals qualified for the NCAA Finals in 2024 as well, DeBeer was sidelined after sustaining an ankle injury during the Final Four clash against the Pittsburg Panthers.

Louisville took on Penn State Nittany Lions in the finals on December 22 but lost 1-3, adding more salt to DeBeer's injury.

Anna DeBeer was eyeing her first national title after leading the Louisville Volleyball to the Final Four. However, after helping the team win two of the first three sets against Pittsburg Panthers, she suffered an ankle injury during the third set. While the Cardinals won 3-1 to set up a finals clash against Penn State, DeBeer was devastated after being ruled out of what could have been her farewell match.

After Louisville lost the finals, her misery increased, with the 23-year-old later saying in a post-match interview:

“It's very unfortunate, just the situation with my injury, and it just seemed like all the stars were aligning for such a perfect game in Louisville, finishing my career. We worked so freaking hard all year to get where we are, and it was just so close. So, I think that's what's really hard."

While she was proud of the team's effort, DeBeer hoped she could have played in the match.

"We just said it wasn't our best day; it wasn’t always going our way, but that second set showed the fight that our team has in us. But I would have done anything to be out there, and that's the hardest part," Anna DeBeer added.

It nonetheless was an impressive collegiate career for the 23-year-old. She will now hope to shine with the Indy Ignite professional volleyball team when the franchise makes its debut on Janaury 11 against Orlando Valkyries at the Fishers Event Center.
