Former Olympic medalist Laurie Hernandez hosts UNICEF Gala 2024 in New York City

Laurie Hernandez recently hosted a UNICEF USA event, aligning with the global Giving Tuesday movement. The initiative, held after Thanksgiving, underscores UNICEF's mission to champion children's health, education, and rights worldwide.

The 24-year-old is a two-time Olympic medalist, securing gold in the team all-around event and silver in the individual balance beam. She also triumphed in Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars.

The Olympic gold medalist took to Instagram to share an update on her recently hosted UNICEF GALA 2024 on Giving Tuesday in New York. As a UNICEF USA ambassador, she reflected on the event and shared her thoughts, writing:

"It's an honor to be the emcee for @unicefusa's Gala tonight. #UNICEFgala #GivingTuesday #ForEveryChild "

UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) was founded in 1946 to advocate for children's rights, health, and well-being worldwide, with a focus on developing countries and conflict zones.

Recently, Laurie Hernandez partnered with Utlra Beauty and posted a video, saying:

"Sometimes I get really, really anxious. So, I like to find little things to do throughout the day that help me clean my mind. One of my favorite to do is positive affirmations while doing my skincare routine." (00:03 onwards)

Hernandez is also excited to distribute gifts in partnership with Ulta Beauty this holiday season.

Laurie Hernandez will participate in the holiday initiative 'Joy on the Streets' organized by Ulta Beauty. The event focuses on gifting during the Christmas season, and Hernandez is an Ulta Beauty Joy Council member.

Following the 'Joy on the Streets' announcement, she shared a video on Instagram, enthusiastically handing out gifts to passersby in NYC. She tested their beauty knowledge before distributing the gifts.

She wrote on Instagram:

"I'm coming for Santa's job this year. @ultabeatuy's Joy on the Streets is back to test your beauty knowledge and give out allll the gits."

In another video, the 24-year-old was seen giving out gifts on behalf of Ulta Beauty. She asked passersby to pick a number and then handed out the corresponding gift. She also inquired about what brought them joy during the holidays.
