Frankfurt Marathon 2024 Final Results 2024: Benard Biwott triumphs on elite debut as Hawi Feysa sets course record

The 2024 Frankfurt Marathon was held on Sunday, October 27, 2024. The Olympic year edition was the 41st Frankfurt Marathon. This year also witnessed a new course record in the women's category. Inaugurated in 1981, the 2024 edition saw more than 14,000 runners on the streets of Frankfurt during one of Germany's largest marathons.

2023 was dominated by Kenya's Brimin Kipkorir Misoi and Ethiopia's Buzunesh Getachew Gudeta with 02:04.53 and 02:19.27 hours in the men's and women's categories respectively. The Marathon is the third fastest city race worldwide. Here's a look at the 2024 results.

Results of the 2024 Frankfurt Marathon

Kenyan debutant Benard Biwott stunned the fans after dominating the men's category with a staggering time of 02:05.54 hours. Having secured fourth place at the half of the course, the Kenyan secured the lead at the 35th km. He defeated the Ethiopians Gossa Ambelu Challa and Lencho Tesfaye Anbesa, who clocked in at 02:07:35 and 02:08:02 hours, respectively.

The men's category at the marathon was studded with Ethiopian winners, including Gerba Dibaba (02:09:03 hours - 4th), Aychew Dessie (02:09:22 hours - 5th), and Workneh Serbessa (02:09:30 hours - 6th). The women's category was led by Hawi Gejia, who registered a course record with an impressive 2:17:25 hours, surpassing the previous record by 1:45 minutes.
