Frankfurt Marathon 2024: Schedule, where to watch, athletes to watch out for and more

The 2024 Frankfurt Marathon is set to kick off on October 27. It will start at Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage and finish 60m past the east gate of the Festhalle. The competition has been categorized as a World Athletics Elite Label Road Race.

Besides the marathon, the race will also host a marathon relay competition on the same day. It is worth noting that more than 14,000 runners will be competing at the 41st installment of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon.

Known for being one of the events of the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings, the runners earned ranking points from a maximum of two qualifying times during the qualification period.

Having been inaugurated in 1981, the road race event is known for being one of the largest marathons in Germany. At the 2023 edition of the marathon, Brimin Kipkorir Misoi and Buzunesh Getachew Gudeta emerged as the winners of the men’s and women’s elite fields, clocking times of 02:04:53 and 02:19:27, respectively.

At the 2024 Frankfurt Marathon, Elisha Rotich, Lencho Tesfaye, Aychew Bantie, Alemu Abay, and Birhan Nebebew are a few top participants in the men’s division. On the other hand, Yeshi Chekole, Shuko Genemo, Magdalyne Masai, Kidsan Alema, and Meseret Dinke will headline the women’s elite field in the marathon running event.

Where to watch the 2024 edition of the marathon?

The 2024 Frankfurt Marathon will be live streamed on the event’s official YouTube channel. One can also watch the event live on the website of one of the biggest marathons in Germany.
