Fred Kerley's confrontation with Miami Police: All about alleged domestic violence charges added to Olympian's incident

Two-time Olympic medalist Fred Kerley has been slapped with charges in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident that he was accused of last year. This comes following his arrest from South Florida on Thursday over charges of battery and inappropriate conduct.

As per reports, Kerley's recent charges included allegations of robbery along with domestic violence, and the accuser is reported as his wife in the police report. The report states that this incident started after the accuser had enquired Kerley about some unknown messages on his Instagram handle.

Following this, Kerley allegedly behaved in an inappropriately aggressive manner and also choked her while trying to grab her mobile phone. Notably, the Texas track athlete was not detained for these charges that supposedly took place in May.

"I want to proceed with pressing charges on him," the accuser had stated during a recent video conference (via NBC Miami).

Reacting to these newly framed charges, Kerley's lawyer, Richard L. Cooper termed them as false and also added that these have come to the spotlight after the unjust arrest of his client. He said (via a statement to USA Today):

"These new charges are stemming from a falsified accusation that has resurfaced because of this new media attention from last night's wrongful arrest."

Fred Kerley's alleged girlfriend explains the situation during the track athlete's arrest

Cleo Rahman also known as DJ Sky High Baby, who is reportedly Fred Kerley's girlfriend, opened up about the series of events that took place during the Olympian's arrest. This came following the Texas track athlete's arrest.

In an interview, Rahman said she and her boyfriend were casually moving around their car when the police officers nabbed Kerly and created a mess. She also expressed her shock at her boyfriend's arrest by the officials. She said (via NBC Miami):

"So as we tried to move around to our car, the police officer decided to push my boyfriend and move him out of the way, and it started a big fiasco. We were simply just trying to get to the car, we weren't trying to obstruct justice or anything like that. It's just crazy to the extent that it (took) four police officers to try to detain him. It was absolutely crazy."

Following Fred Kerley's arrest, DJ Sky High Baby was also detained by the officials for videotaping the track athlete's arrest.
