Fred Kerley was recently seen donning a full-body Nike kit at the Lausanne Diamond League after a whirlwind of sponsorship chaos. Kerley parted ways with Asics ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

At the 2024 Games, Kerley secured a bronze medal in the men's 100m event after clocking a time of 9.81 seconds. He followed Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson to earn the feat as the top two sprinters completed the race in a photo finish.

After the expiration of his contract with Nike at the end of 2022, the American sprinter signed a multi-year deal with Asics in February 2023. However, during the 2024 NYC Grand Prix, held on June 8 and 9 at Icahn Stadium in New York City, Kerley was seen competing in 100m in orange Puma spikes. At the same event, a spokesperson from Asics confirmed the split between the athlete and the brand.

Moving on to the current time, the Olympic medalist was seen competing at the Lausanne Diamond League in a full Nike body kit, indicating his return to the brand.

Fresh off his 100m victory at the Paris Games, Kerley secured third place in the 200m event at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise in Lausanne, Switzerland after posting a time of 19.86 seconds. He was surpassed by Letsile Tebogo and Erriyon Knighton, who listed 19.64 seconds and 19.78 seconds, respectively.

In the wake of his Paris Olympics victory, Fred Kerley competed in the Lausanne Diamond League.

At the 2024 Paris Games, the American sprinter had to stay away from the gold medal after finishing third in the 100m and after a baton exchange mishap in the men's 4x100m relay events. However, during a press conference at the recent Diamond League, he stated his goal of clinching an Olympic gold medal before hanging up his spikes.

"In Paris, I think I got the job done on that day, that's all I had on that day," Kerley said. "I feel like the job's not finished and 2028 is around the corner. I am not leaving my career without an Olympic gold medal and 2028 is around the corner. But I feel like everything was given on them days at the championship; on to the next one.”

Fred Kerley bagged a silver medal in the 100m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
