The track and field athlete competed in the women's 4x400m relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing 7th and missing out on the final. She previously helped the national team secure second place at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships and third at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships.
The 26-year-old recently shared an Instagram story of her travels throughout 2024. Her journey included destinations like South Africa, the Bahamas, Paris, Italy, Thailand, and the Maldives.
In December, Schmidt arrived in Switzerland for a BioTherm campaign shoot, sharing the update on her Instagram story.

After the 2024 Paris Olympics, Schmidt reflected on her track and field journey and shared her plans for the year ahead. She revealed plans to push beyond her comfort zone by training for 800 races.
The athlete took on new challenges by competing in the 800m and 600m events, pushing herself beyond her comfort zone. She shared that the decision to focus on the 800m was made in 2022, with plans to pursue it after the Paris Olympics.
Following her announcement she wrote on Instagram:
"It's been quite a year. It was filled with so many highlights, and I made some memories that will last forever: From the world relays in the Bahamas, where we qualified the mixed relay for the Olympics, to the European championships in Rome, where we qualified the women's 4x400m for Paris, to the German nationals and of course: The OLYMPICS"
Schmidt is preparing for her high-altitude training camp, where she will join an international 800m group to train with elite athletes and boost her endurance. While continuing to compete in the 400m, her main focus is building stamina for middle-distance events, and seizing the opportunities this new chapter brings.
