Simone Biles clarified about her 'black job' hit at Donald Trump
Simone Biles recently clarified the comment she made about 'black job' in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. During the Paris Olympics, the US gymnast won her second gold medal in the all-around event, after which she tweeted about loving her “black job." She re-posted a fan's tweet, who commended Biles for her performance, and quoted it saying:
"I love my black job🖤 "
This tweet made rounds on the internet and was interpreted as the Olympian taking a jibe at Donald Trump, who had recently said that immigrants were "taking black jobs." Weeks after this, Simone Biles has now clarified her intentions, stating she did not intend to take a hit at the US President.
Speaking further on the matter, she said that the tweet was meant to be a joke and she knew that people would enjoy it:
"Well, I didn’t think it was going to explode the way that it did. I thought it was a joke and I thought it was funny, and I knew people would enjoy it. But obviously with the election coming up, that was not my intention. I was just having fun at the Olympics and everybody turns it into whatever they want to," Simone Biles said.
Biles concluded her Paris Olympics campaign with four medals, of which three were gold, which she won in the team all-around event, individual all-around event, and vault exercise; and the fourth one was a silver, which she nabbed in the floor exercise.
