Gabby Douglas recently shared a glimpse of her new hair style, months after withdrawing from the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials due to an ankle injury suffered during training in May. Douglas returned to the sport last year after competing at the 2016 Rio Games, where she bagged a gold medal in the team event alongside Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian.

Gabby Douglas took a long hiatus from the sport after her 2016 Rio Games appearance. She returned to training in 2022 and was poised to make a comeback to the competing circuit at the Winter Cup 2024, but was forced to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19.

She later competed at the U.S. Classic, eventually making a spot for the Olympic Trials. However, after enduring a severe ankle injury during training in May, she withdrew from the Olympic Trials, scheduled to be held in June, hence sidelining her Olympic quest.

Months later, the American gymnast shared a video of her behind-the-scenes training for the Olympic season, where she was seen working with steadfast determination. The gymnast could be seen falling, struggling with skills, and ripping her hand till bleeding in the video.

"Happy wednesday,"Gabby Douglas wrote on Instagram. "Never showed you guys bts of the 2024 journey 🖤 feel free to laugh…"

Douglas has set her sights on making an Olympic return at the 2028 LA Games.
