Gabby Thomas spoke out after finishing second in her first race after the Paris Olympics at Athlos NYC organized by Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian. The American athlete lauded the organization of the maiden edition of the track meet that aims to bring about a revolution in women's sports.
After winning three gold medals at the Paris Olympics, Gabby Thomas decided to opt out of the Diamond League events and make the final appearance of her 2024 season at Athlos NYC. She returned to the track after a hiatus of over four weeks and competed in the 200m event.
Thomas had a great start but could not hold on to the final moments of the race as Brittany Brown registered a chest finish to clinch victory, clocking 22.18 seconds, while Gabby Thomas took 22.21 seconds to finish her race.
After the race, She took to X to laud the maiden edition of the track meet and urged every track meet to be like Athlos NYC.
"Every track meet needs to be like Athlos. End of discussion," she wrote.
Athlos featured six events and starred some of the best athletes in the world in contention for the title. Along with incredible races, Athlos featured an amazing performance by Megan The Stallion as well as amazing athlete introductions before the contest that enlightened the race atmosphere.

Gabby Thomas spoke about her decision to compete at Athlos NYC and run the final race of her 2024 season in the introductory edition of the event. The American athlete revealed how she was eager to be a part of the event that will bring about a massive change in women's sports.
She considered it the opportunity to be bigger than herself and was very content with the impact the event would have on the growth of women's sports and track in the future.
"This is bigger than myself and it’s bigger than this race. It’s bigger than just the six of us lining up. It’s really about what we’re doing for women’s sports. What this event particularly means for women's sports and track and field," she said.
Furthermore, the Paris Olympics gold medalist stressed about creating an impact on the youth with her relentless pursuits on the track so that she could stand as an inspiration for future generations.
