Gabby Thomas reacted to a fan dressed as her in her Olympic outfit and posing with the US flag for Halloween. Thomas had a successful campaign at the Paris Games, winning gold in the 100m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relay events.
Thomas debuted at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she won the 200m bronze and clinched silver as a member of the 4x100m relay team. The Harvard University alum continued her momentum at the 2023 World Championships, winning gold in the 4x100m relay and individual silver in the 200m. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she competed in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relay, winning gold in all three.
With a few days left for Halloween, fans are already dressing up as their favorite athletes for Halloween. A fan posed as Gabby Thomas, matching her athletic wear from the Paris Olympics and posing like her with the US flag.
Thomas was moved by the gesture and lauded the little one, writing:
"Aw I love it!! She looks speedy."
Following the Olympics, Thomas headlined the 200m roster at the 2024 Athlos NYC, a women-only track event by Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian. The triple Olympic gold medalist finished in silver behind Brittany Brown in 22.21s.
Recently, she joined the likes of fellow 4x400m relay team member and 400m hurdles world record holder, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone to feature in a brand new commercial of New Balance.
Sporting black New balance-designed gym wear, the Olympians passed the baton off-camera, ran a short distance, and posed for the camera.
"New Balance. We got now," as heard in the audio.
Thomas won the 200m dash at the London Diamond League, marking her only DL podium finish in the 2024 season.
Gabby Thomas shared the reason why she chose track - "You're always kind of racing yourself so, I fell in love with that"
In an interview with New Balance, the reigning 200m Olympic champion, Gabby Thomas, candidly revealed the reason behind choosing track.
"I think I ended up choosing track because you can always get better you can always improve, you can always be a better athlete, be a better version of yourself and that's such a beautiful thing about track and field. We can count medals and we can count wins but you're always kind of racing yourself so, I fell in love with that."
The 27-year-old has been drawing inspiration from former track athlete Allyson Felix since her younger days. Initially inclined to play soccer, Thomas shifted to track and field owing to her mother's unending motivation.
