Gabby Thomas reacts to meeting Nicki Minaj at Vogue's Forces of Fashion after the rapper said she 'loved' her

American track sensation Gabby Thomas reacted to meeting Nicki Minaj at Vogue's Forces of Fashion on October 16 after the two encountered each other for the first time at the event. Thomas has been making the most of her off-season by attending fashion shows and other events and traveling.

Thomas had a remarkable outdoor season, winning three gold medals at the Paris Olympics in the individual 200m, women’s 4x100m relay, and women’s 4x400m relay events. With this, she added three medals to her previous count of two, which included a bronze in the 200m and a silver in the women’s 4x100m relay from Tokyo. She then wrapped up her athletics season at the inaugural Athlos NYC launched by Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian as she finished second to take home a cash prize of $25,000.

Following this, Thomas made her debut appearance at the New York Fashion Week and later traveled to Maldives with her boyfriend Spencer McManes for a vacation. The 27-year-old then attended Vogue's Forces of Fashion, where she was seen wearing a multi-colored knit outfit and engaged in interviews with Nicki Minaj, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Victoria Beckham.

Following her interaction with Gabby Thomas where the athlete temporarily handed over her gold medal, the Trinidadian rapper and singer-songwriter took to her X and said:

“I love her. Congrats to her. First time meeting her. Loved her instantly.”

The Harvard University alumna reacted to this and wrote:

“An honor to meet and learn from the Queen herself 🙌🏽”

Following her impressive outing at the Stade de France during the Olympics, Thomas reflected on how she styled herself during the race days.

In an interview with the popular fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue, Gabby Thomas shared how individuals in track and field can express themselves in various ways that reflect their personalities:

“What I love about track and field is that style and personality are kind of embedded in our culture. People can express themselves - they can wear their hair how they want, their makeup, their jewelry.

I think mine is a really classic style, and my partner Omega really complements that. At the final I chose to wear my Constellation watch, which I love, and it’s also gold. I thought, I’m going to manifest this gold medal right now and put on this gold watch. It’s definitely my vibe. You look good, you feel good, you run good.”

Thomas’ next major tournament will be the World Athletics Championships scheduled in Tokyo, Japan, for 2025.
