Thomas won two medals on her debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, a silver in the 4x100m relay and a bronze in the 200m, before dominating the proceedings in both events at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The American cruised to a comfortable victory in 21.83s in the women's 200m before running third legs for the US 4x400m and 4x100m relay teams, both of which won the gold medal.

However, the 28-year-old is still missing a 200m World title in her trophy cabinet and would be eager to win it at the World Championships later this year.

While Gabby Thomas helped Serena Williams' husband and Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian set up the first-ever women's track league in Athlos NYC, the American sprinter nonetheless signed with its rival Grand Slam Track for the 2025 season.

Set up by track legend Michael Johnson, the league offers the highest-ever prize money in the history of the sport, attracting some of the fastest sprinters in the world including Thomas. The 28-year-old said she was excited to join the league and test herself against the fastest women in the world.

"I am so excited to be joining Grand Slam Track, and partnering with Michael Johnson to give our sport the platform it deserves. Coming off of the Olympics, I want to continue testing myself and competing at the highest level against the fastest," she said [via Citius Mag]

While it hasn't been specified which events Thomas will be competing in yet, the five-time Olympic champion said she would compete in all of the four slams, the first of which is scheduled for April 4-6 in Kingston, Jamaica.
