Gabby Thomas hilariously zoomed in to show a toy pug as her car-hanging accessory, a nod to her pet Rico, noting that it makes it easier to identify her car. Rico has been the Olympian's support system since 2021 and also got a new house built by Thomas' boyfriend, Spencer McManes.

Thomas, 27, won gold in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relay events at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She also added a 200m win to her repertoire at the London Diamond League stop. To conclude her 2024 track season, Thomas competed at the Athlos NYC, headlining the 200m event but giving away the gold podium to her fellow US sprinter, Brittany Brown. She also made off-track appearances at the New York Fashion and US Open finals, among others.

After every event, the three-time Olympic gold medalist returns home to her pet pug Rico, who she welcomed in 2021. The little puppy has been a beacon of support to Thomas and often accompanies her to the track. Claiming Rico as the 'fastest pug in the country', Thomas once said:

"He loves coming out to the track with me and he loves to sprint. A match made in heaven," she said in an interview with Clear the Shelters.

In her latest Instagram post, the World medalist showed off her newest Toyota car hanging, a symbol of Rico, and hilariously shared that the toy would help her identify her car if ever lost.

"In case I'm ever not sure which car is mine," she captioned.

Before Thomas and her boyfriend took off for their Maldivian vacation, they built a doghouse for Rico, assembling wooden frames and attaching a black nameplate with 'Rico' written on it.

Thomas and her pet dog Rico were part of Nulo, the pet food brand's 'Fuel Incredible' campaign, which emphasized the function of nutrition for pets and pet owners and celebrated the bond between them. The Olympian reflected on her relationship with her dog and shared how Nulo keeps her pet healthy and happy.

"Since 2021, Rico has been my rock through every sprint, every win, and every challenge. His presence brings joy and motivation, reminding me that success is not just about the medals but also the journey we share. Nulo’s nutrition plays a crucial role in keeping Rico healthy and happy, mirroring my own approach to performance and wellness," said Gabby Thomas. (via Business Wire)

Thomas competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but settled for bronze in the 200m and silver as part of the 4x100m relay. She was part of the gold-winning relay team at the 2023 World Championships.
