Shericka Jackson's mindset for the Paris Olympics year
Shericka Jackson recently shared her thoughts on the upcoming Paris Olympics. She spoke with Citius Mag about pursuing a world record and revealed that it won't be her main focus in every race; however, once she is healthy, then anything is possible.
"Yes, the world record is on our minds but it's not something we are going to dwell on in every race," Shericka Jackson said. "Once I'm healthy and once I'm in peak form, anything is possible. I am the athlete and my coach will prepare me for the right time."
The Jamaican athlete has already represented her country twice in the Olympics in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Tokyo Games. She has won five Olympic medals, of which one is gold, one is silver, and three are bronze. She is now poised to represent her country for the third time in Paris.
Shericka Jackson recently faced a huge setback at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial, where she was forced to withdraw, citing an apparent injury. She stopped after running 30m in the event and walked off the rest of the race. However, it was confirmed by her physiotherapist that she hasn't sustained a major injury, and there was a slight cramp in her hamstring.
