Summer McIntosh delivered a world-class act on Day 4 of the Canadian Swimming Trials. She has stunned the entire swimming community by smashing her world record in the 400m IM she set last year in the Canadian trials. The crowd at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Center was electric and the fans on social media also celebrated McIntosh's win.
The 17-year-old clocked a world record with a time of 4:24.38, improving a few seconds from the world record she set in 2023. In the second position stood Ella Jansen with the time of 4:38.88 and in the third position was Mabel Zavaros with 4:40.46.
With this stellar performance, McIntosh has paved her way to the Paris Olympics 2024.
The CBC Olympics shared her win on their Instagram handle and highlighted her feat.
"Summer can't be stopped. Summer McIntosh breaks her own 400m IM record in 4:24.38 just 2 months before Paris 2024."
One of the swimming enthusiasts stunned after her impressive feat, commented:

Summer McIntosh's performance at the Canadian Swimming Trials 2024
Summer McIntosh has been turning heads since day 1 of the Canadian Swimming Trials 2024. She has participated in three events so far in the competition and has bagged a gold medal in all three of them.
On Day 1, she was seen competing in the 400m freestyle event. Here she delivered an excellent performance by clocking a world lead with a time of 3:59.06, followed by Julie Brousseau in second position with a time of 4:08.12. Julia Strojnowska clinched the bronze medal after clocking a time of 4:11.08.
On Day 2, she competed in the women's 200m freestyle final. She stood atop the podium after clocking a time of 1:53.69. Sharing the podium with her were Mary-Sophie Harvey and Julie Brousseau at 1:55.44 and 1:57.60, respectively.
McIntosh will next compete in the 100m freestyle, the 200m IM, and the 200m butterfly. The Canadian swimming trials will conclude on May 19, 2024.
