Following her recent victory at the London Diamond League, Femke Bol expressed her gratitude towards fans and conveyed her joy of securing the victory in England. With only a week left for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Bol cemented her status as a formidable contender in the 400m hurdles event.
The Dutch athlete dominated the race in London on July 20, 2024, clocking an impressive 51.30 seconds. Bol topped the lineup with a strong start, leading the lineup with a huge gap after confidently clinching the victory.
She defeated the Pan American champion Shamier Little and the World Championships medalist Rushell Clayton, who clocked 52.78 and 53.24 seconds, respectively. Following her feat, she took to social media to express her gratitude to fans who were present in the stadium to cheer her.
Further, the 24-year-old athlete reflected on last year's 400m hurdles event at the London Diamond League when she secured first place after clocking 51.45 seconds, leaving Janieve Russell and Little behind. She stated that racing at the London Olympic Stadium was a dream last year, which she relived in the Olympic year too.
"Last year was a dream come true racing in this stadium and in front of this crowd," she wrote. "Today I got to live this dream again, thank you to everyone in the stadium," Bol added.

The 2024 Paris squad for the Netherlands with 276 athletes is the largest squad the nation has ever sent for the Games. It's also the largest Dutch athletics squad, comprising of 47 athletes.
Femke Bol will compete in the women's 400m hurdles event in the French capital. Round 1 of the event is slated for Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 12:35 local time (6:35 ET).
If the Dutch athlete advances to the next round, she will compete in the repechage round, scheduled for August 5, 2024, at 10:50 as per the local time. The semifinal round is scheduled for August 6 at 20:07 (local time) with the finals on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 21:25 as per the Paris time.
