"I'm on cloud nine"- Gretchen Walsh shares her feeling after winning four medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Gretchen Walsh reflected upon winning four medals at the Paris Olympics in a recent interview with Olympics.com. She exuded pride in herself for making two world records and nabbing the medals in her maiden Olympic Games.

"I'm on cloud nine," said Gretchen Walsh. "To come away with four medals, two world records at my first-ever Olympics, I feel like that's things people dream of, so I'm really proud."

Along with this, Walsh also spoke about experiencing the Olympic stage for the first time. She revealed that she learned some things from her sister Alex Walsh during the Olympics and lauded the village, calling it a "great experience."

"I didn't really know what to expect going in. I feel like I tried to learn a little bit from my sister Alex, but Tokyo was so different and so getting to experience it together with her kind of felt like both of our own first Olympics in a way. The Village was great. Seeing all athletes from everywhere around the world, I had a really great experience there. It felt like home."

Gretchen Walsh also competed in the women's 50m freestyle, where she secured fourth place by posting 24.21s. She lost to Sarah Sjostrom, who claimed first place by clocking 23.71s.
