Weber and Walsh had previously attended the baseball game between Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies in September 2024, alongside Olympic medalists Kate Douglass and Paige Madden. Walsh took to her Instagram account to post about the occasion as she wrote:

"Thanks for having us @nationals!!! Now I have to work on my form 🥴"

Emma Weber and Gretchen Walsh were a part of the US women's swimming team for the Paris Olympics. While Walsh won two gold and two silver medals in the relay events, as well as the individual 100m butterfly, Weber contributed in the world record winning performance of Team USA during the women's 4x100m medley relay event at the Paris Olympics. The American team clocked a record timing of 3:49.63 seconds to win the gold medal.

A few months after her historic debut at the Paris Olympics, Gretchen Walsh revisited her performance at the quadrennial event in Paris. She talked about how she felt after winning four Olympic medals in her first appearance. She said (via Olympics.com):

"I'm on cloud nine," said Gretchen Walsh. "To come away with four medals, two world records at my first-ever Olympics, I feel like that's things people dream of, so I'm really proud."

Walsh also mentioned about the guidance she received from her elder sibling Alex Walsh, who was also representing the American team at the Paris Olympics. In her words:

"I didn't really know what to expect going in. I feel like I tried to learn a little bit from my sister Alex, but Tokyo was so different and so getting to experience it together with her kind of felt like both of our own first Olympics in a way."

Gretchen Walsh's achievements didn't stop at the Paris Olympics. The soon to be 22-year-old swimmer broke multiple records at the short-course World Championships in Budapest in December 2024. Walsh established six new world records on her route to win seven gold medals overall.
