Gyulai István Memorial 2024 Results: Andre de Grasse goes sub-20 for first time this season, Kishane Thompson secures easy 100m win

The 2024 Gyulai István Memorial witnessed noteworthy performances at the Bregyó Athletic Center in Hungary. The event was one of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meetings of the 2024 season.

In the men's 100m, the 2024 world leader Kishane Thompson clinched a top victory with a time of 9.91s against Botswana's Letsile Tebogo who clocked a 9.99s, while the United States' Tamari Davis won the women's 100m in a time of 11.00s.

Reigning Olympic champion Andre de Grasse took the top position in the men's 200m with a sub-20s performance, clocking 19.98s, at the Gyulai István Memorial. While the women's 200m saw Julien Alfred winning the event with a 22.16 ahead of Daryll Neita (22.36). The world champion Shericka Jackson was going strong but pulled up about 30m from the finish line and finished last at the Gyulai István Memorial.

Other prominent names who clinched victory at the Gyulai István Memorial are Steven Gardiner in the men's 400m, Miltiadis Tentoglou in the men's long jump, Trey Cunningham in the men's 110m Hurdles, Leonardo Fabbri in the men's shot put, and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in the women's 100m hurdles event.
