Simone Biles' husband, Jonathan Owens, shared a handshake with the gymnast, which was never seen before while having fun amidst the Gold Over America Tour. He is also an NFL player for the Chicago Bears and is currently on their bye week in between an ongoing season.
Biles wrapped up her Paris Olympics campaign weeks ago with four medals, of which three were gold and one was silver. She successfully dominated in the team's all-around event, individual all-around event, and vault exercise, scoring 171.296, 59.131, and 15.700 points, respectively. She also won a silver medal in the floor exercise, where she earned a score of 14.133 points.
Following the conclusion of this victorious campaign, Biles launched the second edition of the Gold Over America Tour. She and her team, which includes Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, Joscelyn Roberson, Paul Juda, Fred Richards, Brody Malone, Yul Moldauer, and Shane Wiskus, started the journey on September 16 at the Oceanside.
They are now on their 23rd stop at Houston, where they performed on October 19, and amid all the shenanigans, Owens made sure to show his support for Biles. He is currently with the team. He recently shared a video on his Instagram story where he was seen celebrating with Simone Biles, as they hit the bullseye while playing dart.
The shot was followed by an unseen 'crazy' handshake between the couple, and the caption on the story read:
"Send em home mad. When you and ya lady the dart champs. Handshake go crazy."
Simone Biles shares the reason behind getting a tattoo for Jonathan Owens
Simone Biles recently got the initials letters of her husband's name tattooed, on her ring finger. The 27-year-old revealed the reason behind this gesture in a recent interview with Access Hollywood's Scott Evans. She called this 'sentimental' and unveiled that Owens also has a tattoo of her initials. The 27-year-old stated that she wanted to surprise him:
"It's very sentimental and he also has an 'S' on his ring finger as just an ode to me. He loves me so much and I love him and I knew that it would be such a big surprise. I actually called him the other day because we tattoed in Arizona after the show literally two days ago," Simone Biles said.
She added:
"I wanted to surprise him because he already got his and I kept telling him no I'm not doing it. So he actually woke up in the middle of the night and I had just landed in San Francisco and he was like "I am going to cry."
Jonathan Owens and the Chicago Bears' next match is on October 28 against the Washington Commanders. On the other hand, Simone Biles' and her team's next Gold Over America Tour performance is on October 20 at Fort Worth, which is followed by a one-week rest till October 27, 2024.
