Bergen Reilly, the setter of the Nebraska Volleyball, shared a heartfelt message after the conclusion of the 2024 NCAA season. In her post, she expressed deep gratitude for her teammates, highlighting how they transformed the team into a close-knit family.

Nebraska's season came to a close with a hard-fought loss to Penn State on December 19 in the NCAA women's volleyball semifinals. Since their last national title in 2017, the Huskers have consistently remained contenders, reaching four Final Fours and three championship games. Despite winning the first two sets, the team couldn't maintain momentum, and Penn State rallied for victory with set scores of 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 28-26, and 15-13.

Reilly's emotional farewell paid tribute to her graduating teammates on Instagram, reflecting on their shared journey:

"Words cannot express how thankful I am for this group of women. I will cherish the memories made and the bonds created this year forever. To Lexi, Merritt, Kenna, Lindsay, and Leyla, you all have had such an impact on me, this program, and the sport of volleyball as a whole. You have turned this team into a family. Nebraska won't be the same without you five, but I will forever be thankful that I got to share the court with you all."

Following Nebraska's semifinal match against Penn State, Bergen Reilly spoke to 1011 News in a locker room interview. She reflected on her sportsmanship, expressed gratitude for her journey, and highlighted the influence of her team, particularly the leadership of her senior teammates.

Reflecting on the impact of her senior teammates, the setter shared a heartfelt response when asked about their contributions:

"It's so huge, and we talk about them every single day just that we're making changes in people's lives that we don't even know about, and so that's so much bigger than the wins and the losses, and I'm just proud of the seniors, and I wish we could have got it done for them but, like you said, they've changed volleyball, they've changed women's sports in general, and I'm just so proud of them, we're going to miss them all," she said.

Bergen Reilly also praised Lexi Rodriguez, describing her as a special teammate and co-captain who represented positivity and consistency.
