In the 2024 NCAA Women's Volleyball semifinals, Penn State mounted a stunning comeback to defeat Nebraska, overcoming a tough start to seal the victory. Despite the loss, Harper Murray played a crucial role in the first two sets, contributing both offensively and defensively to give her team an early advantage.

In a December 2024 interview with Hail Varsity, the Nebraska player reflected on the season and the match's outcome. She expressed pride in the team's accomplishments and acknowledged the importance of stepping into a leadership role as senior teammates Lexi Rodriguez and Marritt Beason.

Murray recognized that the transition would require growth, particularly in the mental aspects of the game, an area she is eager to develop further.

"The leadership side of things is going to be big for us. Marritt and Lexi are leaving, and we're going to need people to step up, and that's something that I hope to step into, but more mentally, I think that's where the growth is going to come, and physically, volleyball is a game of errors and momentum, so that's always something to keep in the back of your head but, I think for me the leadership role and the mental side of the game is going to be really important."
