Noah Lyles opens up about his 100m win at the London Diamond League
Noah Lyles reflected on his glorious win in the 100m dash at the London Diamond League. In a post-race interview with Citius Mag, Lyles stated that he could have showcased much better skills during the race.
"I didn't get to show nearly as much," said Lyles. "I've been having a lot better block starts than I feel like I showed today, but the patience was there, and I feel like the speed was there, so the pieces are definitely coming together, and even the wind was against me today, so I'm like you know, if we're running this fast with in the negative winds, you know I'm ready for anything. Noah Lyles also opened up about his experience in the Olympic trials and qualifying for the 2024 Summer Games:
"It's definitely different, it's a different mindset, it's a different motivation. Some people like to conserve energy, some people like to play by year. I'm a guy who likes to get the rhythm in the first round, kill it in the semis, and then blow everybody's doors off in the final." (0:40 - 1:14)
Lyles qualified for the 100m and 200m dash races in the Paris Olympics following his notable performances at the US trials. He stood atop the podium in the 100m event by clocking 9.83s and recorded a world lead of 19.53s in the 200m discipline. Now, he has surpassed the 100m personal best of his Jamaican rival, Oblique Seville, at the London Diamond League.
Noah Lyles will now be seen competing against the likes of Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, Zharnel Hughes, and others in the 100m dash at the Paris Olympics 2024.
