Hezly Rivera recently revealed three reasons why she loves her Paris Olympic teammate Suni Lee. Rivera became the youngest athlete in the entire U.S. team for the 2024 Olympic Games, joining the elite gymnastics team, including Lee, Simone Biles, Jade Carey, and Jordan Chiles.
Although Rivera did not compete in any apparatus in the final round of the women's team event, she earned a gold medal with the squad, showing her unwavering support for her teammates. Throughout her time in Paris, Rivera formed a strong connection with Lee, the second youngest among the five gymnasts.
The two gymnasts would spend their mornings walking, getting coffee, and making TikToks in Paris. Being naturally reserved and usually quiet in the gym, Lee would make her laugh by cracking jokes, encouraging her to relax and have fun during training.
In a recent Ask Me Anything session on Instagram, Rivera was asked three reasons why she loved her 21-year-old teammate. Sharing a picture of herself and Lee from the Olympic Village Rivera wrote:
"She's like a big sister, can talk to her about anything, and she's there for me."
Lee enjoyed a successful campaign at the Paris Games, securing three medals - a gold and two bronze. She became the first American gymnast to bag two Olympic medals in the same event after bagging bronze medals in the uneven bars events at Tokyo and Paris editions.
While Lee took a well-deserved break from the sport following the Games Rivera joined her teammates, navigating the whole nation for the Gold Over America Tour.
