The American gymnast competed in multiple competitions to qualify for the Paris Games. However, after withdrawing from the Olympic Trials, she fell short of making a comeback on the national team. Douglas commenced her training for the return in 2024.
Months after pulling out from the 2024 Olympic Trials, Douglas shared a video of behind-the-scenes training for the 2024 Olympic season. In the video, the 2012 and 2016 Olympic champion can be seen falling, struggling with skills, and ripping her hand—showing her relentless determination.
