Katie Ledecky, who has clinched seven Olympic gold medals throughout her career, will be targeting her fourth appearance in the quadrennial Games at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Ledecky will be participating in the 2024 U.S. Olympics Swimming Team trials to secure her spot in the USA’s roster for the Paris Olympics.
Renowned as the most decorated female swimmer of all time, Ledecky is set to swim in four events in the women’s 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Additionally, Katie Ledecky also holds the world record in the women’s 800m and 1500m freestyle, clocking times of 8:04.79 and 15:20.48 at the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis. This makes her the pre-race favorite in these two events in the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials, which will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium, a football stadium converted into a swimming pool for the occasion.
So far, in the year 2024, Ledecky has featured in two TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville and San Antonio. Her last competition was the 2024 Atlanta Classic where she bagged the top places in the 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle, thus displaying her dominance yet again in the events. There, she registered times of 1:55.71, 3:59.44, 8:12.95, and 15:38.25, respectively.
