Days after this controversy, Chiles appeared on the stage of MTV VMAs 2024, where she opened the show with American rapper Flavor Flav, as the first presenter of the evening.

"From the very beginning, I was already choked up, because you know, I was searching for her before the show even starts, they have like a pre-show, where they show like everybody walking in," said Gina Chiles. "You know that sometimes they would be interviewed, so, I was like stalking the screen, trying to see if I could to see her, so like I weigh in and I am already nervous for her because she hasn't done anything like that and its kind of a big scale." (6:00 onwards..)
She further spoke about Jordan Chiles sharing the stage with Flav and lauded the rapper for his support towards the gymnast.
"I knew she was gonna be representing with Flav about couples a week ago, so that was kind of an exciting thing becauseehe's been super supportive, not of women's sports in general, but of Jordan, and we were happy about that. So, I watched her walk out on stage, and I thought there is no way that is Jordan. Walking on the VMA stage, Jordan with that big old smile, and as soon as I saw the smile, it was very healing."
