Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall are the ‘it couple’ of the track and field world, and they never shy away from showing their love for one another. Most recently, Davis-Woodhall reminiscenced over their wedding, joking that she could smell the room through the pictures.
Davis-Woodhall and her husband have known each other since high school, and have been together since their collegiate careers. The couple often share updates with fans about their day-to-day life behind the scenes and are each other's biggest cheerleaders in competitions.
The Woodhalls got married in October 2022, at the D’Vine Grace Vineyard, and documented large parts of their special day on social media. Their ‘fairytale’ wedding took place outside and included their two dogs as ring bearers. Recently, a page on Instagram shared photos of Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall’s wedding, labeling their decor a ‘floral dream.’
The long jumper reacted to this by sharing the post of her Instagram story and writing,
“My dream wedding was brought to life. I can smell the room.”
Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall on supporting each other on track
In a crowd of 80,000 at the Stade De France during the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall were each other's loudest supporters. The long jumper ran to her husband to celebrate when she won her gold, with Woodhall doing the same a few weeks later when he topped the men's 400m T62.
In a recent interview with Olympics.com, the couple explained that this support for each other was an everyday occurrence, even when they train.
"We have one thing on our mind and that's winning and being the best versions of ourselves. So when one of us isn't there, the other one hypes them up and holds them accountable like, 'Hey, let's do this. Let's be there for each other and let's go to practice. This is just a bad day'. And when that's happening, it's like you can't do anything but succeed,” Davis-Woodhall said.
Reflecting on his wife’s thoughts, Hunter Woodhall added,
"I think we just speak confidence into each other. We know how hard we've worked. We know we're prepared, so it's just telling each other, 'You can do it. You got this'.”
Since walking away with a gold medal from the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall have moved on to a new chapter in life, shifting from Arkansas to Kansas as the former begins her role as an assistant coach at K-State University.
