Jordan Chiles received a heartfelt message from the legendary NBA player Michael Jordan for her performance at the Paris Olympics. The gymnast recently qualified for the 2024 Summer Games with her dominant performance at the US gymnastics Olympic trials alongside Simone Biles, Sunisa Lee, and others.

With just eight days left for the 2024 Summer Games, Jordan Chiles received a message from Michael Jordan, who is also the inspiration behind her name. She took to her and shared the screenshot of Jordan's text for the gymnast motivating her to win the gold at the Olympics.

The player's text read:

"Hey Jordan, this is Michael Jordan. I am so excited to watch you win a gold medal. Here's to wishing you nothing but good luck. Let's catch up afterwards. Hope to see you soon. MJ."

He playfully added:

"Btw love the name *laughing emoji*"

Jordan Chiles added a caption in the story stating that her Olympic experience has just begun.

Chiles had a dominant start in the trials, finishing second all-around with a score of 56.400 on the first day of the competition. On the final day, she clinched bronze medals in the all-around, floor exercise, and uneven bars, scoring 55.025, 14.100, and 14.200, respectively. Following this, she advanced to the Paris Olympics alongside Biles, Lee, Jade Carey, Joscelyn Roberson, and Hezley Rivera.

Jordan Chiles recently disclosed the connection between her name and the most decorated basketball player, Michael Jordan. She revealed that the player has always been a lucky charm for her mother, Gina Chiles, who decided to name her daughter after the player.

The NBA recently posted a video of Chiles training at the Core Hydration Classic stage, with the Larry O'Brein trophy kept in front of her on the mat. In a conversation with the NBA, the gymnast opened up about the meaning behind her name and her interest in basketball and Nike Jordans.

"I am named after Michael Jordan so definitely, you know basketball thing has been in my life," Chiles said. "My mom was a huge Jordan fan ever since she was younger. Obviously, I have Jordans on to match. It's a good little good luck charm I think."

After being a part of the silver-winning team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Chiles is poised to compete at her second Olympics in Paris, which is scheduled from July 26 - August 11.
